you are in a forum owned by a private company, thus you must obey the rules they set. your freedom of speech is only guarenteed by the government. if you don't abide by yahoo's rules you can be kicked off.


but if you're on your own site and the only thing you have to deal with is the law, you may say what you want, provided it isn't obscene (the actual legal definition of obscene is, "i know it when i see it"), it can't be in any way child pornographic, you cannot spread lies about someone (aka slander and libel), and you can't create panic (aka shouting fire in a crowded theatre).


these are the only legally restricted forms of speech (except some laws on commercial speech, which i assume you're not interested in)
